# Notifications

> Review items that need attention across your organisations

## Overview

Notifications help you keep track of items that need review, items InvestSync has handled, and activity that may need a team member to check.

Use the bell icon for a quick view, or open the dedicated Notifications page for the full list across your organisations.

Planning activity is included in notifications. When someone tags you in a shared Planning Workspace discussion or reply, InvestSync sends an email and adds an in-app notification that opens the related thread. When a shared Planning Workspace reminder becomes due, InvestSync also notifies the selected teammates. Private planning threads do not send mention or reminder alerts to other people.

Assistant sharing is also included. When a teammate shares a conversation and
chooses to notify you, the notification opens the read-only conversation in the
correct organisation. The sender may also choose to send the same message and
secure link by email.

## Open notifications

Select the bell icon in the top bar to see recent notifications. The bell shows unread items across your organisations, so you can spot important activity without switching workspaces first.

Select **View all notifications** to open the account-level Notifications page. This page stays focused on your notifications, even when you move between workspaces.

When you are using InvestSync, new in-app notifications can appear straight away as a small toast. Select the toast to open the item it relates to, such as an email item awaiting approval. If your connection drops, InvestSync reconnects automatically and refreshes the list when new activity arrives.

## Review across organisations

The Notifications page groups activity by organisation. Use the organisation list to focus on one organisation, or keep **All organisations** selected to review everything together.

Each notification shows:

* The organisation it belongs to.
* The type of activity.
* The title and summary.
* When it was received.
* Whether it is unread.

For planning mentions and reminders, the summary shows the thread topic and enough context to decide whether to open it straight away.

## Work through unread items

Use **Unread only** to focus on items that still need attention.

Select **Open** when a notification links to related work, such as an email item awaiting approval. InvestSync marks the notification as read when you open it.

Use **Mark read** for an item that does not need further action.

Use **Mark all read** when the visible list has been reviewed.

## Notification preferences

Open the bell icon and select the settings button to manage preferences for the current organisation.

You can choose whether each notification type appears in the app and whether email notifications are sent immediately, as a digest, or not at all. Preferences are saved for you and the current organisation only.

Use **Shared Assistant conversations** to control in-app and email alerts for
conversations shared by teammates. Turning off an alert does not remove your
access to a conversation; it only changes how InvestSync lets you know about it.

Email notifications include a button that opens the related item in InvestSync, such as a planning task or note reminder. If you are not already signed in on that device, InvestSync asks you to sign in first and then continues to the item.

Planning mention preferences control whether those tags appear in your in-app notifications. Mention emails are still sent when you are tagged in a Planning Workspace thread that has email notifications enabled.

Planning mention emails include a short preview of the message. Note formatting is simplified so the preview stays easy to read in your email app.

Note reminder preferences control the alerts sent when a scheduled planning reminder becomes due. Leave email set to **Immediate** when reminders should arrive at the due time.

## Good practice

    to be missed.

    Filter by organisation when you are working through one client or entity at
    a time.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Keep preferences aligned">
